Demandbase Taps Management from Yahoo and Jigsaw to Drive Expansion of Online Marketing and SaaS Solutions

Demandbase, Inc. , a technology company transforming the way B2B companies identify, reach and convert new customers, today announced that David Lieberman has joined as vice president of business development and Susan Chenoweth Scarth has joined as vice president of marketing. Previously serving in sales leadership at Yahoo!, Lieberman will be charged with building key partnerships with leading solution providers in the online marketing space. He will also further expand Demandbases content and data partnerships, leveraging his 10 plus years in the business information sector at DowJones/Factiva, iSyndicate, and Thompson. Scarth joins the company with more than 20 years of software industry marketing experience at Jigsaw, Taleo, Commerce One, Microsoft, Netscape, and IBM, and is responsible for Demandbases overall marketing and communications strategy.

David and Susans deep expertise in their various fields will be invaluable as we accelerate the expansion of our product footprint to help customers improve the success of their marketing and sales programs, said Chris Golec, founder and CEO of Demandbase. With Davids search industry experience and Susans software industry knowledge, we will be able to put the necessary strategies in place to deliver and communicate stronger ROI for our customers--once and for all closing the loop between online marketing efforts and customer conversions.

Prior to joining Demandbase, Lieberman was responsible for Yahoo!s growth within the search and display advertising categories and led the team responsible for $200 million in annual revenue. Before his position at Yahoo, Lieberman held leadership positions at Dow Jones/Factiva, Thompson Business Information and Xerox Corporation.

The market need for more effective lead generation has exploded within the past few years, and Demandbase is quickly emerging as a leader in the field, said Lieberman. From my search marketing experience I was able to easily recognize the immense value that Demandbase brings to customers, extending the precision of search marketing and enabling companies to capitalize on premium Website traffic.

Most recently, Scarth was the vice president of marketing for Jigsaw, an online database of business contact and company information. Prior to Jigsaw, Scarth held executive positions at Taleo, and Commerce One, leading their marketing through successful IPOs and high growth. Previously, Scarth held marketing leadership positions at Microsoft, Netscape and IBM.

Demandbases technology platform and on demand solutions fill a growing need by B2B marketers to improve the performance of their direct marketing and online advertising spend, said Scarth. Performance-based marketing solutions will be crucial for every business hoping to grow during this difficult economic climate, and I look forward to being part of a company serving as a catalyst for this change.
