Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that Hunter Douglas, the nation’s leading manufacturer and marketer of window treatment fashions, is leveraging Adobe Scene7 OnDemand technology to dynamically display product imagery online on the Hunter Douglas iMagine™ Design Center.
This Flash-based rich Internet application on www.hunterdouglas.com engages customers by allowing them to experience custom window fashion visualization using Hunter Douglas inventory. Since deploying the iMagine Design Center application, Hunter Douglas has measured significant increases in time spent on the company site.
“We applaud Hunter Douglas’ initiatives to enhance its brand with a strong and engaging online customer experience,” said Doug Mack, vice president of Consumer and Hosted Solutions for Adobe. “The iMagine Design Center demonstrates the value of rich online visualization.”
The iMagine Design Center guides users to over 40 different window covering options and thousands of fabric and color combinations that can be viewed in the context of a room or as a detailed product view, and allows dynamic zoom on color and pattern details. The privacy and light control feature enables customers to filter their options based on opacity and change selections to visualize light transformations. The application’s ability to uniquely display shading from sheer to opaque that accurately reflects a room’s true lighting, and the ability for a user to change room attributes such as paint, trim and flooring options, encourages users to explore window fashions in colors beyond the neutral tones typically considered safe choices. Hunter Douglas also added videos to demonstrate product features including its lifting and operating systems.
The Adobe Scene7 OnDemand solution dynamically serves all product imagery used in the iMagine Design Center for interactive zoom, pan, color change and rendering in room scenes, and enables application updates, new products and color swatches to be added seamlessly. Collaborating with Adobe Scene7 professional services, leading interactive agency, Enlighten, designed Hunter Douglas’ Flash-based user interface and working with Hunter Douglas prepared the product photography and color swatches to realistically demonstrate the lighting effects of products and color options.
“The shopping process for window fashions is daunting, and it is critical for shoppers to see what coverings will look like in a room,” said Linda Bellitt, Director of Marketing Technology, at Hunter Douglas. “With Adobe Scene7 and the design expertise of Enlighten, we have a scalable solution that enables consumers to visualize online all products up close and in context so they can view the effects of light transformation. These refined online visualization features are allowing us to better market our full-range of products and color options.”
“With Adobe Scene7 OnDemand, we were able to design Hunter Douglas’ application to scale across an almost infinite range of product and color combinations,” said Laura Detwyler, Engagement Manager, at Enlighten. “We are thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response customers have had to the iMagine Design Center and look forward to working with both Adobe Scene7 and Hunter Douglas as it expands the application to accommodate new product offerings.”
