Lottoland Launches the World's First Bitcoin Lotto Jackpot

GIBRALTAR, Dec. 18 2017 /CNW/ - Lottoland, the global leader in online lotto-jackpots, is launching the world's first officially licensed Bitcoin lotto jackpot. The jackpot is seeded at 1,000 Bitcoins (approximately $20 million+ CAN). Today's draw will take place on at 8.30pm (GMT).

Bitcoin Lotto offers players from Canada - and several other countries around the globe - the chance to join the Bitcoin boom. Canadians can play Bitcoin Lotto online at starting December 18, 2017.  Daily draws will take place Monday through Saturday each week.

Bitcoin Lotto is based on the most popular lottery format in the world – 6/49 (choosing 6 numbers out of 49 balls).  The odds of winning the Bitcoin Lotto jackpot is 14 million to 1, which is ten times more likely than winning a leading global lottery like EuroMillions.

Bitcoin Lotto is backed by Lottoland's insurance model, which guarantees all pay-outs and gives players access to the largest lottery jackpots in the world. To-date, Lottoland players have already won over $1.25 billion on the website.

"We're pleased to be able to announce the launch of this world exclusive Bitcoin jackpot. Today, 1,000 Bitcoins are worth over $20 million and might be worth even more by tomorrow.  Bitcoin is a worldwide phenomenon, and Lottoland is giving our customers the opportunity to get involved," says Lottoland CEO Nigel Birrell.
