Business leaders, executives and college students from across the region will address the significant changes taking place in the political, financial/regulatory, healthcare and board governance worlds at the Philadelphia I-Day annual conference, to be held April 11, 2013 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The CPCU Society Philadelphia Chapter and The Insurance Society of Philadelphia present Philly I-Day in collaboration with representatives from the Insurance Society of Philadelphia, CPCU Society Brandywine and Valley Forge Chapters and RIMS Delaware Valley Chapter.
Offering perspectives on the day’s theme of “A Climate of Change”, I-Day will open with a prestigious panel discussion, featuring:
- Peter Eastwood, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Americas, AIG
- Gregory Case, President and Chief Executive Officer, Aon
- John Marren, 2012 Risk Manager of the Year and Director, Global Risk and Insurance Management, CSL Ltd.
The discussion will be moderated by Michael Angelina, Executive Director, Academy of Risk Management and Insurance, St. Joseph’s University.
“I look forward to an exciting discussion as our panelists are leaders in the industry and each have a unique perspective on the current trends in the insurance market as well as the macro environment,” said Angelina.
Continuing the unique partnership between industry and academia to promote and develop the talent pool in Philadelphia, I-Day offers local students the opportunity to have their attendance sponsored by generous industry supporters.
NBC10 Chief Meteorologist Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz will deliver the luncheon keynote address. The luncheon will also feature bestowment of the annual Franklin Award for outstanding contributions and achievements in the insurance industry in the Delaware Valley.
I-Day’s continuing education classes will focus on current issues within the insurance and risk management realm. A networking post event reception will feature a St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving fundraiser, contributing financial support to the fight against childhood cancer.
“This event brings together the best of all worlds – carriers, brokers, agents, risk managers, law firms and organizations - networking with hundreds of industry professionals and homegrown talent,” notes David Arnold, President of the Insurance Society of Philadelphia.
