Global Brands Go Mobile With Adobe Flash

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that major content providers, including MTV Networks, the Nasdaq Stock Market, eBay, Reuters, Dolce & Gabbana and others are using the companys Flash Player compatible mobile products and solutions to extend their brands to the handheld market. Leading companies are adopting Adobe® Flash® Home, a new mobile application for rich, dynamic home screens, and Adobe Flash® Cast 2 technology, the next generation offline portal solution, to deliver high-impact user experiences and provide instant access to data services.

The new Adobe Flash Home application combines customizable data-enabled wallpapers and home screens with live data services to provide users with more personalized mobile experiences. By enriching the idle screen with branded content, users can instantly access more expressive, visually rich content. A major update to Adobe's offline portal solution, Flash Cast 2 delivers rich, easy-to-use data services through mobile applications such as news, sports or entertainment channels. Licensed by operators like NTT DoCoMo, Verizon Wireless and Chunghwa Telecom, Flash Cast offers operators the ability to tailor mobile experiences based on subscriber's profiles and device capabilities while reaching high volume, mass-market handsets.

The time to radically improve the user experience on mobile handsets is now, with Adobe technology leading the transformation of how the world interacts with mobile devices, just as Flash revolutionized the Web, said Gary Kovacs, vice president for product management and marketing, Mobile and Devices at Adobe. Content providers worldwide trust Adobe to deliver engaging experiences in print, on the Web, in video and now mobile is the target for innovative applications that showcase their brands and unique content.

With more than 450 million mobile devices powered by Flash shipped to date, and established partnerships with operators and handset manufacturers worldwide, Adobe's mobile solutions deliver engaging experiences across a wide range of handsets, mobile devices, networks and operating systems.

MTV is a brand built on video content, and were excited to bring the MTV experience powered by Adobes Flash Player compatible mobile technologies to consumers complete with music videos, original programming, and music news they love, said Simona Muti, mobile business development executive at MTV Italia. Our mobile channel will be a prime example of the rich experiences that can be created for mobile devices when the power of programming meets the power of Adobes mobile solutions.

Nasdaqs new mobile concept application is incredibly intuitive and visually rich, said Claude Courbois, associate vice president, Data Product Development at Nasdaq Data Products. The combination of a compelling user interface and unique Nasdaq market information will enable C-level executives to stay on top of their companys stock market situation as never before. With Adobe Flash Home we can bring a large amount of information to a small screen and make it compelling and useful.

eBays 248 million global buyers and sellers are increasingly looking to mobile applications to deliver the real-time information they depend on to enhance their bidding and merchandising activity, said Ken Sun, senior product manager at eBay. Adobes advanced mobile solutions are an important part of our efforts to deliver applications that help our buyers and sellers experience eBay anywhere.

Adobes advanced mobile solutions allow us to bring the D&G Dolce & Gabbana brand to the mobile consumer expressing the edge and sophistication of our company and products, said Dennis Valle, director of digital marketing and communication at Dolce & Gabbana. By working with Adobe Flash Cast 2, we are excited to develop a D&G Dolce & Gabbana lifestyle channel that delivers the latest news on who is wearing D&G Dolce & Gabbana, which products are the must-haves of the season, and where customers can purchase D&G Dolce & Gabbana fashions.

In addition to Flash Home and Flash Cast, Adobe also offers Adobe Flash® Lite technology, the companys award-winning Adobe Flash Player runtime specifically designed for mobile and consumer electronics devices. With more than 150 percent year-over-year growth worldwide of devices shipped with Flash Lite, Flash Lite 3 with support for Flash Player compatible video is now available in a wide range of devices, including the Nokia N95 series, Sony Mylo 2 and NTT DoCoMos 905i series. Mobile users can also experience full user interfaces in handsets created using Flash technology like the LG KE850 Prada, LG KG800 Chocolate, or the Samsung D900.
