Career Strategies Group Offers New Job Search Accelerator Sessions on Job Hunt Best Practices and other Career Development Topics for Lawyers and Executives Seeking New Jobs or New Careers

Career Strategies Group offers new, low- cost Job Search Accelerator sessions for attorneys and executives who want to make a career change or find a new job.

Stress, the economy, Covid-19 and myriad other factors have resulted in an unprecedented number of attorneys  executives and small business owners seeking new jobs or alternative career paths. To meet this demand, Career Strategies Group, a national company which has been serving job search needs of professionals in transition since 1992, has recently announced the launch of its Job Search Accelerator program.

“What we found,” said Career Strategies Group President Bruce Blackwell, “is that many people don’t need the type of full-blown career counselling program we have traditionally offered, but instead, just need a few sessions on a specific topic. We are proud to unveil our new Job Search Accelerator to serve this market.”

The Job Search Accelerator (JSA) consists of 1-, 2- and 3-session programs that deal with various aspects of a senior-level job search.  Programs include: “Brainstorming and General Discussion” (3 sessions); “Messaging and Beating Your Competition” (1 session); “Innovative Techniques and Job Search Best Practices” (2 sessions) and several others. A particularly popular program, Blackwell said, is “Maximizing Your LinkedIn Profile,” a 1 session course. “With JSA, we are able to give people the information they need in a quick, concise and affordable manner,” he declared.

All JSA programs are personally delivered by a career consultant, but pre-recorded courses will be made available later in the year, according to the company.

Along with its short-flight JSA programs, Career Strategies Group has traditionally provided a range of job search and career consulting options for lawyers and executives who are exploring their career options, and for senior level executives and inhouse counsel who are looking for new positions.

The company provides a wide range of services  to clients who earn more than $125,000 per year and are considering a career change or launching a job search. Although many of the company’s clients have been in the same career track for as long as 30 or 40+ years, it is quite possible for them to change jobs and find fulfillment in new lines of work, Blackwell stated.

Identification of career options is a mainstay of the practice. Candidates who are interested in an in-depth assessment of their realistic career options can make use of the company’s proprietary Personal Success Profiletm process, or “PSP.” PSP is an interactive, qualitative assessment tool that identifies a person’s skills, interests, values, experience and lifestyle, and which then identifies careers would appropriate for that person. “We are very focused on real world options – jobs a person with a legal background can actually get. We don’t chase dreams,” Blackwell said.

While many of the company’s clients are Baby Boomers in their 50s and 60s, Career Strategies also assists younger attorneys in their late 20s and early 30s on career planning, job search and alternative career options.

Ensuring that candidates are presented to the job and career marketplace in a professional manner is critical, and the company’s career counseling team provides professional resume and cover letter writing services to assist with this. The company’s Job Search Success Systemtm also provides candidates with a number of resources that will help get them started on the process of doing a successful job search and entering the so-called Hidden Job Market. “It’s not hidden if you know where to look. We know, and we teach others how to find it,” said Blackwell.

Other services offered include creating personalized Marketing Action Plans, doing interview preparation, and assisting in salary negotiation strategies so clients  are able to land the best compensation packages possible.

Although the company has long been based in the metropolitan New York area, team members work with clients from all over the world. An initial no-cost screening call is made with a potential client to determine their situation and goals; if a potential client is deemed suitable for the company, a full consultation will be provided. “While we would like to be able to help everybody, we are a boutique and not a factory,” said Blackwell, who added, “we serve a very specific niche, and we only accept as clients about 12% of the candidates who contact us.”
