When you imagine a successful author, you probably picture someone who sold millions of copies, being affiliated with a big publishing house.
But Vlad Alecu breaks this myth, he isn’t affiliated with any corporate business, he doesn’t even have a lot of books published on his name. He’s one of the youngest author Romania has ever known and yet he isn’t stopping at selling just books.
He launched different projects, including a number of websites, apps, and even games.
At the age of 12, his career was already up and running, creating websites, online communities, and even recordings for his youtube channel.
He didn’t stop there, by the time he was 16, after numerous failures in the online world, one day he just breaks the ice in the self-publishing industry. His first book was the golden payoff, after hours of writing, designing covers and formatting, he finally connected the dots.
Alecu references to the first book as “a good marketing strategy”, managing to sell thousands of copies on Amazon, although “not a professional piece of writing, mostly because of bad grammar”.
Since then, he published a handful of books (both on his name and other pen names) in 50+ stores around the globe including Apple, Kobo, Google Books, Barnes&Noble. He also became a digital marketing expert and a professional web developer.
Vlad teaches to over 10,000 students on Udemy, expanding more in the educational area with books for almost all ages (now launching “Kickstart.” – The #1 Digital Marketing Guide!).
It didn’t take long for Alecu to become a Self-Published Author & Entrepreneur with several ventures in the self-publishing space, e-commerce and app development.
Asked about his remarkable entrepreneurial success, Alecu said, “I am looking towards solving bigger problems, even though I like creating little projects for fun.”
Recently, he launched UserBuddy – “a simple tool that lets you check the availability of your favorite username almost instantly across 50+ social media platforms”. It was an instant success, with over 260 votes on the biggest product showcase website, Product Hunt.
“It gained a lot of attention from really important people, even from Silicon Valley” Alecu explained.
