Summer energy briefing offered to businesses
Posted on June 22, 2012 at 19:06 PM EDT
The City of Carlsbad is partnering with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Ready Carlsbad Business Alliance and SDG&E to prepare community businesses for potential summer energy-use challenges through the Summer Energy Outlook briefing.

The event will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on June 28 at the City of Carlsbad Safety Training Center, located at 2560 Orion Way.

Experts will cover predicted energy challenges in store for the summer months and provide specific steps businesses can take to alleviate them. They will also present the stage-by-stage progression of a power emergency and connect business owners to helpful energy efficiency programs.

“Commercial buildings consume 37 percent of California’s energy,” said David Harrison, emergency preparedness manager for the City of Carlsbad. “Providing education and practical tactics to local businesses will allow them to play a positive role in managing energy challenges as they arise.”

Representatives from any Carlsbad business are invited to attend the event, space permitting. To RSVP, click here or contact David Harrison at 760-931-2137 or david.harrison@carlsbadca.gov by June 25.
