San Francisco, CA  (  Scoma’s Restaurant, a San Francisco seafood restaurant in Fisherman’s Wharf, is beginning the new year with two events this January.

Scoma’s is hosting its own booth at the Winter Fancy Food Show to spotlight its retail product, Scoma’s All Natural, Sustainably Harvested Seafood Cakes. Scoma’s Seafood Cakes include crab cakes; shrimp and crab cakes; and salmon and crab cakes. Scoma’s will also feature its popular clam chowder, which Newsweek Magazine recognized in 2005 as one of the best clam chowder recipes in the country. The Fancy Food Show lasts from Jan. 15 to Jan. 17.

Since 1955, the NASFT Fancy Food shows have been North America’s largest specialty food and beverage marketplace. Between the Winter Show in San Francisco and the Summer Show in New York City, the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade events bring in more than 40,000 attendees from more than 80 countries to see 260,000 innovative specialty food products, such as confections, cheese, coffee, snacks, spices, ethnic, natural, organic and more.

Scoma’s is also participating in the 11th Annual Dine About Town from Jan. 15 through Jan. 31. Scoma’s has been fortunate to be one of the few area restaurants that has participated in Dine About Town since the event’s inception in 2002. The restaurant will offer both lunch and dinner sample menus to Dine About Town patrons. For dinner, Scoma’s will present such delights as a lobster bisque, Dungeness crab cake, lamb t-bones, broiled Pacific swordfish, a pumpkin cheesecake and other options.

Dine About Town San Francisco offers diners the chance to visit and experience many of San Francisco’s finest restaurants for up to 25-percent off regularly priced a la carte items. More than 100 participating restaurants will offer either a two-course lunch menu for $17.95 or a three-course dinner menu for $34.95, or in some cases, both. Reservations are encouraged.

Truly a family affair and rich with San Francisco tradition, Scoma’s continually seeks to provide a memorable San Francisco waterfront dining experience.

About Scoma’s Restaurant

Scoma’s Restaurant is a Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant steeped with a family tradition of quality and service. Still family owned and operated, Scoma’s opened in 1965 after brothers Al and Joe Scoma bought a tiny, six-seat coffee shop and served fishermen on the wharf. Starting with their mother’s recipe collection, the Scoma brothers’ humble café is now a delicious tradition with unsurpassed San Francisco Bay views and a must-go dining destination for generations of locals and visitors.

Scoma’s is known for its fresh seafood, and especially for its Dungeness crab. The restaurant offers group dining services, which feature exceptional settings, specially designed menus and personalized service for private parties and large groups.
